We offer a customer focused, internationally recognised laboratory service providing fast, reliable, and accurate cat genetics results to vets, breeders and owners. We are at the forefront of discovery, focused on improving feline health and welfare by reinvesting profits from this service into research of inherited conditions in cats.

We are a leading laboratory in Europe for the genetic screening of cats. Dr Pip Lait heads the Cat Genetic Testing Service and is responsible for the research and development of new tests for genetic diseases and inheritable traits.
All genetic tests are normally run daily. The results are usually sent by email within 3-5-working days of us receiving your samples. These times can be subject to change (e.g. for Bank holidays) and results may be delayed if the swabs are of poor quality and contain low levels of DNA.
We accept mouth swabs or EDTA blood for all genetic tests listed below.
Some genetic disease tests can be performed on many different breeds of cat (e.g. Polycystic Kidney Disease), whilst others are specific to only one breed of cat (e.g. Ragdoll HCM).
Please note - we have not included genetic disease tests in breeds where the mutations are very rarely found. Coat colour genetic tests are also not included since most are applicable to all breeds. If you are in any doubt please contact us.
