Here at Langford Vets we host an annual Vet Nurse Congress featuring a full day of in-person lectures delivered by our outstanding nursing team and offering tours of our hospital.
Previous years' events have covered a range of interesting lecture topics across all types of nursing disciplines, including neurology, physiotherapy, ICU, theatre, cardiology, behaviour and many more. Through a mix of lectures, discussions, and practical sessions, we offer an opportunity to upskill in key areas and ask our nurses plenty of questions. This is of great value to those at all levels including Vet Nurses, Trainee Vet Nurses and Animal Care Assistants.
Example lecture topics:
- Nursing the neurological patient
- A practical session with the Langford nurses on placement of central lines
- C-sections; theatre management and nursing
- Basic wound management in small animals
- Stepping into leadership
- How to approach the reactive/aggressive dog
- Managing the tetanus patient
- CPR Training
- Antibiotic compliance in small-animal surgical procedures
- Feline airway management
