Soft Tissue Surgery

The soft tissue surgery service at Langford Vets offers exceptional care for animals suffering from a wide variety of soft tissue surgical conditions. Our large and experienced team of RCVS and European Specialist surgeons, alongside clinicians and residents, work with our other hospital specialists in critical care, anaesthesia, internal medicine, oncology, diagnostic imaging, and cardiology to ensure the animals in our care benefit from a truly multi-disciplinary approach providing holistic care of the highest quality. The service is well supported by a large and dedicated team of interns, nurses and animal care assistants.

The soft tissue service at Langford have a vast combined experience and are pleased to be able to accept referrals in all areas of soft tissue surgery. 

Some of the work we do:

  • Gastrointestinal surgery – e.g. foreign body, intussusception, GDV, hiatal hernia, mass removals
  • Hepatobiliary surgery – e.g. liver mass removal, gall bladder removal, biliary obstruction
  • Vascular surgery – e.g. tumour removal, vascular malformations
  • Endocrine surgery – e.g. surgical management of thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pancreatic disease
  • Urogenital surgery – e.g. kidney removal, ectopic ureter reimplantation, bladder surgery, stone removal, subcutaneous ureteral bypass (SUB) placement, urethral cuff placement, ectopic ureter laser
  • Cardiothoracic surgery – e.g. PDA surgery, pericardectomy, pyothorax, lung removal, thymoma
  • Oncological surgery – e.g. tumour removal
  • Maxillofacial surgery – e.g. cleft palate, salivary gland problems, mandible and maxilla resection
  • Reconstructive and plastic surgery – e.g. wound management, wound reconstruction, amputation
  • ENT surgery – e.g. BOAS surgery, laryngeal tieback, stick injury

We also offer a specific Brachycephalic clinic and contribute to the Interventional Radiology service
