Please ensure that no cat litter is present. Samples should be kept refrigerated and sent directly to the laboratory.
*Faecal samples for Tritrichomonas foetus qPCR are less stable than many other sample types. To ensure the best results possible, samples should ideally be received in the laboratory within 3 days of sampling, although positive results have been obtained after lengthier delays.
Samples for Feline Coronavirus are also unstable, these should be submitted to the lab at the earliest opportunity, or if they are to be stored keep them at -80oC.
Care should be taken to mix blood efficiently as the efficacy of the tests will be reduced if clotting occurs. Samples should be submitted in a leak-proof secondary container within in a sealed, padded (Jiffy) bag with a submission form. If samples are being sent from EU countries, please include a copy of the facilitation letter. Please note, we cannot accept diagnostic samples from non-EU countries.
