Julia graduated from the Veterinary University of Vienna, Austria and after a brief encounter with ophthalmology, she moved to the UK where she performed a Small Animal general internship at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket. After a few months in general practice, she began specialising in anaesthesia. She undertook an ECVAA residency at the Animal Health Trust and worked there for over six years before moving to Langford Vets in 2017. She holds the European Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
Julia is interested in all aspects of veterinary anaesthesia but in particular she enjoys anaesthesia of patients with more complex disease processes.

Christina graduated from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College, University of Edinburgh in 1995. She worked in mixed and small animal practice before undertaking a three year residency in small animal medicine and intensive care at the University of Bristol in 2009. Christina obtained the European Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2012 and since then has been employed at Bristol as a Small Animal Medicine Clinician. Despite enjoying all aspects of internal medicine she gradually spent more time working in the Feline Centre and was recognised as an RCVS Feline Specialist in 2017.
Christina’s research interests are feline intestinal disease and she is currently working on research into feline gastric lymphoma with colleagues at the Feline Centre. The University of Bristol has a research group looking at antibiotic use and the concerns over developing drug resistance (AMR Force). As part of this research group, Christina is supervising a postgraduate Master’s student investigating bacterial cystitis in cats and the use of antibiotics.
Christina is also passionate about teaching veterinary students and nurses about feline medicine and trying to educate future professionals in ways to be more cat-friendly and help them understand cats better.
In 2023 Christina became a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for meritorious contributions to clinical practice.

After completing a MSc he spent 3 years at a busy PDSA hospital in East London, before completing a surgical internship at Fitzpatrick Referrals in Surrey. He returned to Glasgow University to complete a rotating internship in 2012. Alex became a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery 2018 following a three-year residency at Dick White Referrals in Cambridgeshire.
Since joining Langford Vets in 2018 he has become certified to perform total hip replacements, which is his main area of interest. Alex became Secretary of the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association (BVOA) for a three-year term in 2022. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling around the South-West countryside and running.

Following a period of self employment, offering a mobile referral ultrasound/radiology service in the South of England, she started her current post at the University in 2002. Kate works part time, balancing her interests in Diagnostic Imaging alongside the many demands of being a mother.

Away from work Julie is kept busy by her young family and is a keen rugby supporter having retired from her own playing career.
