    BVetMed PgC(SAS) GPCertSAS MRCVS

    Siân qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and has since worked in companion animal practice in the UK and Australia. She has a particular interest in surgery and achieved a post-graduate certificate in this field in 2021. In addition to performing operations, Siân especially enjoys caring for elderly patients to ensure their health and wellbeing needs are being met during their golden years. Outside of work Siân can be found playing netball or hiking with friends.

    Julie Macfarlane

    Julie graduated from the University of Bristol in 2000 and worked in mixed farm animal practice in North Wales, and then mid Wales, where she gained extensive experience working with dairy, beef and sheep. In 2010 she took up a residency in farm animal science at University of Liverpool gaining a diploma in Bovine reproduction. Her specialist interest lies in bovine reproduction and calf rearing. Away from work Julie is kept busy by her young family and is a keen rugby supporter having retired from her own playing career.

    Sarah graduated from the University of Bristol in 2010 before joining the practice as an intern, and she liked it here so much she has stayed on. Her main interests are in monitoring dairy herd performance with data analysis and continuing education through farmers meetings. Outside of work Sarah enjoys hill walking, camping and baking cakes.

    Scarlett graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2018, after which she joined a mixed farm practice in mid Cornwall. She joined the Langford Farm Vet team in 2022 and is enjoying getting to know the local clients.

    Her interests include lameness control and prevention, herd health and regenerative farming.

    Jemma graduated from University of Bristol in 2024 and has returned to Langford Farm Vets as a new graduate. Having grown up in Somerset, she is looking forward to being able to stay in the local area and enjoy the countryside. 
    She is very much looking forward to developing her interests in bovine health and other areas of farm practice.

    Lucy qualified in 2010 from Glasgow, spending time in mixed and farm practice in the UK, New Zealand and Guernsey. Dairy cattle have been her farm animal focus, developing an interest in health planning, and infectious disease control. Lucy completed her CertAVP to develop her knowledge in cattle and also holds an MSc in Sustainable and Efficient food Production which culminated in a study on antimicrobial resistance.

    She is enthusiastic in treating a surgical case and the variety beef and small ruminant cases bring to the day.

    Outside of work Lucy is a keen swimmer, cyclist and runner having completed several long and middle distance triathlons.

    Penny graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2016 and worked in equine practice since, joining SEP in July 2018. Penny enjoys the variety of equine general practice with her particular veterinary interests being in orthopaedics and laminitis. Penny holds a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Equine Practice) and enjoys getting to know clients and their horses. She is a keen trail runner and can often be found exploring the Mendips with her dog.​

    Jenny has worked for the Equine Practice based at Langford Vets, University of Bristol since 2004. She is interested in all aspects of equine surgery and medicine. She holds the Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Equine Soft Tissue Surgery) and gets great satisfaction from working on cases from beginning to end.

    Jenny continues to work for the University, with a leading role supporting the students in their final year equine rotations, to ensure the vets of the future are up to the job! As another part of her role she works alongside the vets at the Stables Equine Practice to provide both the best level of care to her patients and their owners as well as being responsible for the student experience, so you are likely see her around!

    Outside her work, Jenny is often busy with her daughter who is an active pony club member - as a result you may see her at various equine events in the weekends and holidays. Rest is a rare word for this busy lady who relaxes by nurturing her beautiful and productive garden and occasionally helping on their small holding which keeps her husband happy.

    Sophie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2016, and then undertook a 12 month internship at Langford Equine Hospital, seeing a wide variety of medical and surgical cases and completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Practice. Following this she worked in an equine practice in Dorset, where she spent time both out on the road and in the hospital. Sophie enjoys all aspects of equine practice but is particularly interested in medicine, including care of older horses, and dentistry. Having grown up in Somerset, Sophie has always wanted to come back here to work. Outside of work she can usually be found with her own horses, Seren and Sylvie, or with her ever growing menagerie of small animals!
