Tom has been at Langford Vets since 2010, initially running the neurology referral department on his own but now part of a growing team of senior neurologists, residents in training and one full time neurology nurse catering to one of the busiest referral departments in the UK.
He is primarily responsible for seeing and supervising cases referred to the hospital but also spends time teaching the residents and final year students on rotation, as well as being one of the examiners for the European Diploma in Veterinary Neurology.
Tom has a keen interest in clinical research, particularly into diseases commonly seen at Langford Vets, including non-infectious meningitis and encephalitis, as well as spinal cord injury and neuromuscular disorders.In 2020 Tom was awarded a fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for meritorious contributions to clinical practice.

Following graduation from the University of Cambridge in 1997, Melanie worked in mixed and small animal general practice in the UK, Australia and New Zealand for ten years. During this time, she undertook the RCVS Certificates in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and Veterinary Cardiology.
Melanie then completed a small animal rotating internship at the Royal Veterinary College and was awarded a PhD by the same institution in 2012 for her research into mitral valve disease in dogs.
Melanie became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2016, following a four year Residency in Veterinary Cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded a masters by research degree, followed by a PhD from Bristol University investigating the effect of ageing on bone mechanobiology, funded by the Wellcome Trust. Lee completed specialist training at Bristol University and was awarded a European Diploma in Small Animal Surgery in 2017.
Lee is Clinical Lead in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery at Langford Vets and is interested in all aspects of soft tissue surgery.

After nearly 10 years in private referral practice Sara joined us in January 2017, to run the Oncology Service at Langford Vets Small Animal Referral Hospital. Her interests include metronomic chemotherapy and the treatment of lymphoma.
In her spare time Sara enjoys swimming and watching her children play a variety of sports.
In 2021 Sara became a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for meritorious contributions to clinical practice.

Latifa graduated from ENVA (Nationals Vet School of Alfort, in France near Paris) in 2012, with a specialisation in equine . She then completed a rotating internship and a clinical master in Clinique of Equide at the University of Liege. She then finished her postgraduate study with a European Residency in Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Bristol, passing the European board in 2018. Prior to her vet school study, she completed a Diploma in Animal Production specialising in Equidae production.
She enjoys all aspects of anaesthesia and analgesia especially ICU cases and is quite comfortable with large animal and equine anaesthesia. She recently develop a special interest for analgesia and pain management in those species.

Christina graduated from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College, University of Edinburgh in 1995. She worked in mixed and small animal practice before undertaking a three year residency in small animal medicine and intensive care at the University of Bristol in 2009. Christina obtained the European Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2012 and since then has been employed at Bristol as a Small Animal Medicine Clinician. Despite enjoying all aspects of internal medicine she gradually spent more time working in the Feline Centre and was recognised as an RCVS Feline Specialist in 2017.
Christina’s research interests are feline intestinal disease and she is currently working on research into feline gastric lymphoma with colleagues at the Feline Centre. The University of Bristol has a research group looking at antibiotic use and the concerns over developing drug resistance (AMR Force). As part of this research group, Christina is supervising a postgraduate Master’s student investigating bacterial cystitis in cats and the use of antibiotics.
Christina is also passionate about teaching veterinary students and nurses about feline medicine and trying to educate future professionals in ways to be more cat-friendly and help them understand cats better.
In 2023 Christina became a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for meritorious contributions to clinical practice.
