    Senior Clinician in Small Animal Surgery

    Alex graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He moved to the UK and worked for a short period in general practice prior to completing a rotating internship in a referral hospital. Alex worked in a emergency clinic for the next two years after which he completed a surgical internship in a referral hospital in East Anglia. Alex moved in Italy to complete his surgical residency in a busy private referral hospital under the supervision of Dr Aldo Vezzoni.

    Alex is interested in all aspects of Small Animal Surgery.

    Claudia graduated in 2013 from the Complutense University in Madrid. After an internship in Madrid and some time in small animal practice in the UK, she completed a rotating internship at Glasgow University. Shortly after this, she joined us at Langford Vets to complete her residency in Small Internal Medicine (Feline). Claudia decided to stay at Langford Vets as Staff Clinician and obtained the European Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2021.

    Claudia has a keen interest in Feline Medicine, especially endocrinology, haematology and gastroenterology.

    Richard qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2014. Following graduation, he spent four years in a busy small animal hospital in South Wales where he completed the RCVS post graduate certificate in small animal medicine. In July 2018 Richard undertook a 1-year rotating internship at Langford Vets Referrals, and returned to join the Neurology team in July 2020 as a Resident in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery.

    Sarah graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 and started her residency at the Royal Veterinary College in 2018. She gained the European diploma in veterinary dermatology and obtained EBVS specialist status in 2022. She joined the team in 2021 and splits her time between clinical work and her role as lecturer at the Bristol Vet School.

    Kate graduated from Cambridge in 1993. After a period in mixed general practice, she was awarded a Clinical Research Training Scholarship at the University of Bristol, funded by the Wellcome Trust. She obtained a PhD in 1998 and both the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Radiology and the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2000.

    Following a period of self employment, offering a mobile referral ultrasound/radiology service in the South of England, she started her current post at the University in 2002. Kate works part time, balancing her interests in Diagnostic Imaging alongside the many demands of being a mother.

    Emilie graduated from Lyon in 2015 (France). The following two years, she undertook a rotating internship and then a diagnostic imaging internship at Toulouse Vet School (France) alongside out-of-hour shifts in a busy local practice. After practising as a sonographer in France, she moved to the UK in 2018. She started her residency in small animal diagnostic imaging at the University of Glasgow in 2019 and then transitioned to Langford Vets in 2021 to complete it. She passed her European Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging in 2023 and stayed at Langford Vets as a senior clinician in diagnostic imaging.

    Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Dermatology

    Steph graduated from the University of Nottingham Vet School in 2014 and has always had a keen interest in Dermatology. Completing her post graduate certificate, and subsequently being awarded Advanced Practitioner Status by the RCVS in 2021, Steph has worked as a referral dermatology clinician since then. 
    Steph enjoys all aspects of dermatology, but particularly enjoys seeing challenging cases of allergic skin disease and immune mediated conditions. She is also looking forward to teaching undergraduate students on rotation.

    Mariette graduated from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She worked as a companion animal veterinarian for four years in the Netherlands and New Zealand. After two internships in the United Kingdom, she joined Langford Vets in July 2019 as a surgery resident. She finished her residency in January 2023 and stayed at Langford Vets as a Staff Clinician in Small Animal Surgery.

    Mariette likes all aspects of soft tissue surgery, however, has a particular interest in feline conditions and surgery.

  • Bruna Santangelo

    Senior Veterinary Anaesthetist

    Bruna graduated from the Veterinary University of Naples, Italy, in 2005 and spent the following years working as a Clinical Anaesthetist in the Small Animals' Hospital. She obtained a PhD in Small Animal Anaesthesia in 2009, and then a three year scholarship in Veterinary Anaesthesia at the University of Naples, cooperating in the training of ungraduated and graduated students. In 2015 she moved to Vetagro-Sup, University of Lyon, France, to attend an ECVAA residency program. She joined Langford Vets as a Staff Clinician in Veterinary Anaesthesia at the end of the 2018.

    Bruna is interested in many aspects of veterinary anaesthesia, especially loco regional anaesthetic techniques and equine anaesthesia.

    Originally from New Zealand, Alastair graduated from Massey University in 2010 and spent the following 4 years in mixed practice in the South Island of New Zealand.  In 2014 he emigrated to the U.K., and after a few years of small animal general practice he decided to pursue surgical specialisation.  Prior to starting at Langford Vets, he undertook internships at both Anderson Abercromby Orthopaedic Referrals and the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh.
